The concept of some of these songs: is a self, or an idea visiting us from the future. It's been through what we've known, what we've experienced, gained, haven't attained, longed for - and it wants to share with us, ways to grow. It is us, but us with the strength and will, to carry who we are today, into the better version of who we are, tomorrow.
Daeva is another artist local to this NYC nightlife scene. We've been to the cloudy smokey noise events, and quick outlaws, drum and bass, and amorphis hard to classify soundscapes of the millennial, genx, genz scene. The scenes are frenetic and bursting, but theres this connection to the natural world, that both of us feel we'd all benefit from. In Daeva's music she emobodies that cosmic ethereal feel of late nights in a forest, on a beach.
For this track I wanted that energy to touch that scene we love. I'm glad she agreed to work on this.

You have to fall to fly. Everything we do comes with a cost. The most amazing things, demand the most from us. Not just in money or resources. But time. Fear. Bravery. Growth. Change. Dedication.
To learn to fly, you have to learn to fall. How to survive falling.
To survive not reaching your goal - time and time again; until one day you are soaring.
Fall one thousand times, to fly forever more. And if you ever need to fall, you now know you can survive that too.
lyrics
Breathe.
Breathe in.
You have to fall, to fly.
There was a dancer, she built wings, she knew she could
She'd go anywhere.
The people looked in awe. It couldn't be done
They were afraid to fall.
They were afraid to fly.
One of my favorite albums, by one of my favorite artists. I love the adrenaline rush, of NEO TOKYO - but Cult of 2112 is the most epic synthwave song I've heard. Type: V
I listened to Bergschrund, on repeat when it first came out. I hate to overplay a song - so I don't often repeat plays in a row. But I loved all of the glitches, and cuts. Type: V
